The Amite City Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that the WAFB 9News This Morning team will serve as Grand Marshals for its Annual Christmas Parade on Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. through downtown Amite.

"The morning show aired a two-ho"ur show live in downtown Amite earlier this year. They did stories on local businesses and tourism in Amite. We want to show our thanks by having them be our Grand Marshal’s for the Parade," officials say.

Santa’s Sweet Shop will be open for business Tuesday, December 4 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Amite City Chamber building. You can stop by for Pictures with Santa, Baked Goodies, Hot Chocolate, and there will be a Free Kid’s Craft. The Sweet Shop will close down during the parade but it will be open before and after the parade. (All Proceeds will go to the Catha Park Improvement Project in Downtown Amite City)

The theme is "All I Want for Christmas”.  Awards will be given in four categories: Most

Creative Entry, Best Live Musical Entry, Best Youth Entry, and Best “Reason for the Season”
